Q: ✅ Can I take off in a hot air balloon from where I live?

We are happy to start at your home – if there are 5 or 6 passengers, we will come directly to your place of residence. However, you will need to organize a field measuring approximately 50 by 50 meters.

Depending on the wind direction, we take off from various launch sites around Augsburg city center, including sports fields within the city. We take off in such a way that we can ensure a safe balloon ride with a smooth landing on the one hand, and on the other hand, we can offer you, the passenger, the best experience high above Augsburg.

Because: You cannot steer the balloon; the wind determines its direction! By changing altitude, you can reach different wind directions.

Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to fly directly over the city in all weather conditions, e.g. if there is not enough wind. However, we will do our best to show you the city of Augsburg from the air.

Here you can see an overview of our launch sites around Augsburg. The main launch site is located in Friedberg-West, easily accessible via Federal Highway 300 and the A8. The meeting point here is the Park-and-Ride parking lot near tram line 6.

We have additional launch sites west of Augsburg and in the city center at sports fields in Göggingen, Kriegshaber, and Lechhausen.

Do you live in the Augsburg area? You can either start with us from your place of residence or take part in a balloon ride over Augsburg. Your two options for a balloon ride:

Start at your place of residence. To do this, you book our entire balloon, 6 people at the same time. We also need a launch site, which you organize. Approximately 50 by 50 meters is sufficient, and verbal permission from the landowner must be obtained.
Start with one of our balloon rides. Since we often fly directly over Augsburg, there is a good chance you will see your home from above. We may not fly directly over your house, but you will usually be able to see your town or district.

Appointment for a balloon ride?

We always recommend taking a balloon ride with us in the morning. We meet at sunrise at the latest, or even a little earlier. We fly every day in the morning and evening—on weekends only in the morning! Just ask us for a suitable date.

How does a balloon ride from your place of residence work?

We meet at your home in the morning or evening and drive to the launch site. There we set up the balloon together and you receive a safety briefing. The balloon ride itself lasts about 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on where the wind takes us. We don't know in advance where we will land. After the balloon ride, we pack up the balloon again and our support vehicle drives you back home. Beforehand, we enjoy a coffee together or, in the evening, a cold beer.
